Mechanism of action:
OM-RCA-01 binds to extracellular domains of Fibroblast Growth Factor Receptor 1(FGFR1) and prevents receptor interaction with fibroblast growth factors thus inhibiting signal transduction. Kd = 1.59nM
FGFR1 as an anticancer target:
Activation of FGFR1-dependent signaling is linked to numerous oncogenic processes including tumor angiogenesis, anchorage-independent growth and cancer transition to metastatic and invasive states. Overexpression of FGFR1 is associated with rapid decease progression and poor prognosis. Inhibition of FGFR1 signaling pathway has high antitumor activity on various tumor models.
